my.UMDNJ provides portal access to the UMDNJ intranet. Use it to exchange information, interact with school administrations and get connected to external news feeds. We recommend clicking on the Al Port icon as an additional source for help.

Log into the portal and click on the Ask Al Port at the top right of the Banner. You will find the link to tutorials on the left hand navigation bar. Al Port will guide you through on-line tutorials about the portal.

As a service to all students, the Office of Information Systems and Technology (IST) has developed a one-stop password management system to simplify student access to academic computing systems.

When you reset your my.UMDNJ portal password, your password for all of the services listed below will be synchronized automatically.
*my.UMDNJ
*e-mail
*WebCT Campus Edition
*Wireless Access (if you registered for Wireless access)
*Computers in the public computer lab on the physical campus where you are enrolled.

Students are expected to use UMDNJ e-mail accounts for all legitimate UMDNJ communications. Please check messages frequently as part of your personal accountability to the school.

Accessing E-Mail via my.UMDNJ

To access your UMDNJ e-mail account:

a. From within my.UMDNJ, click the mail icon at the top right.
b. The first time you access your e-mail you will be required to enter your password.
c. Remember after your initial password is mailed to you for first portal login,  you will be expected to change your password using portal tools.  First time e-mail login from the portal will require you to initialize the e-mail account by retyping your password . After that, you will not have to use the password again as single sign-on operates within from the portal.

(For portal access to e-mail: https://my.umdnj.edu, select e-mail icon and then choose my.UMDNJ E-mail or Alternate Access links.)

To access WebCT Campus Edition

In my.UMDNJ:,

a. Click the Education Tab and
b. Look on the lower right for the My Courses channel.
c. Click on the link to Login to WebCT.
d. If you have difficulty logging in, use the link in the My Courses Channel to WebCT CE Login Help

If my.UMDNJ is not available, use the alternate login page

a.. For your WebCT ID enter your UMDNJ User Name.
b. Enter the password you most recently set for my.UMDNJ
c. FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU KEEP YOUR my.UMDNJ AND WEBCT PASSWORD IN SYNC BY NOT USING WEBCT'S CHANGE PASSWORD OR FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD FEATURES.

If my.UMDNJ is not available, use the alternate login page

Secure wireless capability has been deployed at select gathering locations, such as: student lounges, faculty lounges, library locations, and designated outside areas.

Students needing to gain access to the University network for wireless or VPN connection can apply via Remote Access Registration.

The University Libraries, one on each of four campuses, together with two cooperating libraries, provide scholarly resources and information services for the eight schools of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

In general, students use my.UMDNJ whether inside or outside the University when accessing the most commonly used assets for conducting UMDNJ business. However, in the event that students need to be provisioned for specific remote access to resources for research, etc. IST will provision such access with approval from an authorized sponsor.
